It can be very stressful to lose keys to your car stolen. If you have an extra key, attaching an additional key to your car is fairly inexpensive and simple.
To add a new key, you'll need to remove the electronics from your old key fob, and get it programmed into your car via a special Saab tech 2 device. Delaying this process can cost you.
Keys stolen or lost
The car keys are exactly the same to make copies of now as it was ago. Modern keys are equipped with an electronic chip. These chips provide a good amount of protection against key theft and copying. However, this doesn't mean that you'll never lose your key.

It's costly to buy the second key, and it will require the dealer installing and programming a new TWICE Module (Column Integration Module on older cars) as well as a brand new OEM key (not purchased from Amazon or eBay).
If your remote control keys aren't locking or unlocking the vehicle, there are a number of possibilities for the cause. The most common reason is a dead coin cell battery inside the key fob, but it could also be due to worn out buttons and receivers, water damage or module issues.
If your problem persists after you have tried all of these options, you can try reprogramming the ignition key. This is done by changing the count (in inverse in hex) to zero in the ECU. You'll need to open the case of your key fob to do this. The best method for doing this is to remove the emergency key from the fob. Then, you can employ a flathead for removing the fob's casing and expose the battery. Be cautious when doing this and avoid pouring or dropping any liquids in the fob as they can damage the electronic components within.
